MATHEMATICS REFRESHER COURSE • All students enrolling for the mentioned programs, have to complete the MRC. • The main purpose of the MRC is to help first year students to adapt to the high pace of first year mathematics and to improve the pass rate. • Work done at school is revised and new concepts are discussed. • Mathematics is a prerequisite for many modules with which you may not continue before you have passed your Mathematics. • The first semester for first year students will be shorter than usual. MATHEMATICS REFRESHER COURSE • The course is presented in a hybrid mode, with mainly online presentations (already starting before the R&O period commences), as well as a limited number of contact sessions offered during the R&O period. • The course consists of a pre- and post-test and work sessions which you have to complete online. • The cost of the course is R 300 and will be deducted from your student account by the end of April 2021. • You will need at least a smart phone, an exercise book of at least 192 pages, a pen or pencil, at least 50 hours and dedication to complete the course. • You have time until the commencement of classes to complete the course.
