Curriculum changes for AS and A level Traditional AS – A 2 Route New AS – A Level Route The AS is 50% the Overall A 2 qualification. Usually 2/3 modules examined in May/ June year 12. A 2 50% of qualification examined in year 13. Possibility to re-sit AS modules in June year 13 to improve overall A 2 grade. AS is a separate qualification completed usually at end of one year (year 12). The A Level is a two year course examined at the end of year 13. Content studied in year 12 as part of an AS/ as start of A level is also examined.
