CURRICULUM AREAS ADDRESSED • Common Core Math Standards – Create equations in one variable and use them to solve problems. • Common Core Technology Standards Relating to Math – Mathematically proficient students consider the available tools when solving a mathematical problem. These tools might include pencil and paper, concrete models, a ruler, a protractor, a calculator, a spreadsheet, a computer algebra system, a statistical package, or dynamic geometry software.
CURRICULUM COMPETENCY OBJECTIVES • A-CED. 1 Create Equations and inequalities in one variable and use them to solve problems.
TECHNOLOGY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES • By the end of the lesson, students will be able to create equations by hand, and using an online mathematical keyboard in order to complete work online.
PREREQUISITE CONTENT KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS • Before the lesson, students will need to understand the basic understanding of variables and what they stand for.
PREREQUISITE COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS • Before the lesson, students will need to be skilled with accessing the internet, as well as online sites. • Students will be reminded of technology ethics, meaning they should only be on sites that they are told to access.
