Aim of session To introduce Key Stage 2 teachers to Espresso and to update them with the latest site developments.

Espresso Update Cost of the product 1 st April 2006 £ 4 per pupil Could be subsidised by CLEO and be as little as £ 2. 00 per pupil if 50% of the schools across Cumbria and Lancashire re-subscribe.

CLEO will be contacting schools later this year to see if you would like to subscribe for the following year. (April 2006/2007) You can use e-learning credits if you wish to re-subscribe for a further year. There is no commitment for schools to have to do this.

ITN and Espresso join forces! Independent Television News (ITN) has made a strategic investment in Espresso. ITN manages the world’s largest video collection, comprising over 680, 000 hours of footage. It has exclusive selling rights for the ITN, Reuters, British Pathe, Granada, Channel 4 and Fox News video libraries.

6. The Search Engine The search engine locates resources across the service. You can refine your search to only return certain types of resource such as video.

The Route Planner 7. The Route Planner The route planner can be used as an effective classroom management tool by giving teachers the opportunity to create differentiated lesson plans which children can open and work from.

The Jotter 8. The Jotter is a basic word processing package which sits in an independent window allowing children to ‘jot’ key words as they watch videos

New from Sept. 04 At the request of teachers the materials have also been archived in subject areas and under ‘Assets’ as another way of finding the resources.

New from Sept. 04 This section will allow you to publish work to the espresso site.
