Recap on Council Position and Review Objectives • The Council faces a time of unprecedented change and a need to make significant budget reductions as a result of the Government’s austerity programme, which is designed to reduce spending and balance the national debt. • Since 2011, the Council has been setting and working towards agreed savings targets. By the end of 2018/19 the Council will have agreed budget savings of £ 249 m. For the period 2019 -2022 additional savings of £ 40 m are still required. • This is a formal redundancy consultation. Service Proposal The proposals for Carlisle, Brampton, Eden Langrigg, Carlisle Cease provision from this site, given closure of residential service S/Us reduced to 12 in total. Operates five days per week with no more than 6 service users attending on any day per week Ella Thompson Reduce from 3 day a week operation to 2 day a week operation There are 3 service users that attend on all 3 days per week Tynefield Drive Cease provision from this site S/Us reduced to one. Operates five days per week with the only service user attending 2 days a week Formally cease provision from Elizabeth Welsh Serving the people of Cumbria

Review and Decision • We will aim to notify all in scope employees of the outcome within 2 weeks of the engagement process ending. This will be accompanied by an outline timetable for the process. • Should there be a need to extend the 2 week decision period as a result of significant issues raised, then all staff will be notified as early as possible, with an explanation for why an extension is required.
