Culture is something that is learned and always changing. Culture is something that can be observed. The clothes people wear, the music they listen to, the foods they eat, the languages they speak, the religions they practice, the sports they play, the art that is appreciated and the tools and technology that they use are all characteristics of a society’s culture.
Ancient Cultures Art included sculptures, pottery, baskets, blankets, paintings, music and jewelry, etc.
Languages • All ancient cultures communicated in two ways: • Written language • Spoken language
Ancient Clothing • Clothing was taken from whatever materials were available like flax, cotton and animal hides. • Some cultures wore headdresses • Some had shoes • Hard to distinguish between clothing for men and clothing for women
