Cultural Centres hosted by the UBB - UBB offers the facilities for activity and events and its name must be associated to that of the institution, but the later remains autonomous

The Russian Cultural Centre • Founded in 2011 by the Russian World Foundation • Objectives: popularize the Russian language and culture, support teaching programmes and stimulate intercultural dialogue • Makes almost 750 books available to public • Organizes exhibitions, conferences, artistic and documentary film viewings, round tables, etc.

The Korean Cultural Centre • Created in 2007 • Activities are meant to foster the sharing of Korean culture, arts and language more effectively and wider in the Romanian society • The Centre also hosts the Korean Studies library with a collection of approximately 1. 500 publications

The Italian Cultural Centre • Brought into existence based on a cooperation protocol with the Italian Cultural Institute in Bucharest • Activity: cultural and scientific events meant to mirror the Italian culture and offer access to the realities of this country • Organizes language exams • Disposes of a library comprising books, CDs, films

Centre for Belgian Literature in French (CELBLF) • Founded in 1990 with the aim of studying and promoting the Belgian francophone literature in Romania • Supported by the Belgian Royal Academy of French Language and Literature and the Belgian French Community • Programme includes scientific activities for undergraduates, master and doctoral students: courses, seminars, papers, book reviews, conferences, international colloquia, etc.

The Centre for Canadian and Quebec Studies • Founded in 1992 • Coordinates the research with regard to the Francophone and Anglophone Canada, shaping the Canadian identity, Canadian multiculturalism, Canadian culture, literature and film • Plans symposia, professional reunions, summer schools organized at national and international level through the Central European Association for Canadian Studies

The Brazilian Cultural Centre “Casa do Brasil” • Inaugurated in 2011 in cooperation with higher education institutions from São Paulo • Develops a wide range of activities: book releases, exhibitions, international conferences, cultural evenings, courses of Portuguese language, courses of Brazilian culture in the historical context of Latin America • Hosts the Library of Latin-American Studies

The Institute of Turkology and Central-Asian Studies • Inaugurated in 2009 • It is the only institute in Romania where the history, language, culture, and civilization and the current politcaleconomic systems of the Turkic world are studied • Initiates and organizes internal and international scientific reunions, public conferences for the general public held by scientific, diplomatic and political personalities, debates, roundtables, symposia, training, etc.

The Centre for African Studies • Created in 2013, it coordinates education, research and professional networks, as well as institutional and scientific projects • Objectives: to become a functional interaction platform, to coordinate common educational programmes, to propose and implement research programmes in partnership with African universities, etc.

British Council - Romania was one of the first four countries in the world where it set up and overseas office along with Egypt, Portugal and Poland 2. 2. The Centre for Polish Language and Culture - The Centre celebrates important holidays of Poland such as the Indepence Day and the Day of the Constitution
