Why recruit in spring? We have always done it in the fall? • Fall is hectic. School is starting up. • New routines for families • Fall sports are beginning. We must compete. • If you recruit in spring, you get boys outdoors, doing the things boys join scouts for • camp, fish, hike, make fires, and generally learn while having fun. • Spring recruiting will introduce new cubs to the best part of scouting. 6
