General Shooting Range Rules 1. All commands issued by the range master must be obeyed immediately. 2. Stay behind the firing line. Do not straddle the firing line. 3. Do not pick up a gun, bow, arrow, or slingshot unless told to by the range master. 4. Absolutely no running on the range. 5. No horseplay or unnecessary talking on the range. 6. Dominant Eye Everyone has a dominant eye: It is the stronger eye and does more work than the other. Following are the steps to determine the dominant eye. • Extend both arms in front of your body. • Place your hands together, forming a small opening between them. • Keep both eyes open; look through the opening at a distant object. • While continuing to look at the object, move both hands back toward your body until they touch your face. • The opening will be over one eye, the dominant eye. Shooting Positions The two shooting positions, which should be used Cub Scout day camps or CUBE are prone and sitting. The exception to this is Cub World where the standing position is required and boy scout ranges where benches are available.
