Training Overview • TRAINING: Formal, structured instruction consisting of either classroom instruction, slide presentations, (i. e. , Power. Point presentation), on-line presentations, on-the-job training (OJT) and/or web-based training. This training helps establish an employee’s competency to perform their assigned job functions. • BASIC TRAINING: Department-specific orientation conducted by a department, area or factory. This training is separate from new employee orientation provided by Human Resources personnel. • CORNERSTONE (CONMED Learn): A web-based training delivery system. Also referred to as a Learning Management System (LMS)
Training Overview • DESIGNATED TRAINER/INSTRUCTOR: Individuals who are identified by area management based upon experience, skill and knowledge to instruct and train other employees. Designated trainers ensure an employee is competent to perform their respective job functions when signing off on training documentation. • DEPARTMENT MANAGER: Generic term used in this procedure to identify Functional Department owner with direct reports. May include but not limited to, Vice President, Director, Manager or Supervisor. • HR TRAINING DEPARTMENT: A function within the HR Department responsible for maintaining the LMS. Not responsible for content creation or maintenance of content.
Training Profile Definition • A list of courses and procedures which is a combination of any Core Training Profile and any Assignment Specific profiles. – CORE TRAINING PROFILE: Listing of courses and procedures defined for each function or job description within a given department or area. o i. e. , Associate Counsel, in the Legal Department – ASSIGNMENT SPECIFIC PROFILE: Job specific training requirements beyond the employee’s Core Training Profile. o i. e. , Formerly Custom Plans
What is expected of a Learner? • Training is to be completed within 30 days, unless otherwise specified. • When conducting an e-signature, your CONMED Learn issued ID is to be used. Your email will not work. • Ensure our company stays compliant by staying timely with your training obligations, as we are a regulated industry. • Help to identify if your training profile meets the functional requirements of your job. • If you ever have a question as to the applicability of a specific training to your position, please address this with your Manager. Your Manager can work with the Training Department to review and modify if necessary.
What is expected of a Manager? Ultimately you are responsible for and tied into the overall success of your employees. • We expect you to validate/ensure your direct reports are compliant with their training requirements • Utilize the system dashboard for status of training completions for your staff. • Ensure your employees have an appropriate training profile. • Request training profiles as needed.
CSI-0087, Training Profile Maintenance • Managing and modifying Training Profiles is done in accordance with CSI-0049 – Good Documentation Practices. • Training Profiles are reviewed and updated by the Department Manager(s) and or individuals responsible for specific compliance requirements. • Multiple changes to multiple profiles can be made in a single request. The Assignment Specific Profile Change Request may be used to request multiple training courses to multiple job titles. • Approvals shall be provided by the proper authority over the specified job title(s) or the individual having responsibility for the compliance requirement. E-mail authorization may be provided in lieu of an approval signature.
CSI-0087, Training Profile Maintenance - continued • It is acceptable to attach additional instructions or documents to supplement the redlined profile. The redlined profile should indicate “See attached” when additional documentation has been provided. • Training Profile Change Request shall indicate the reason for the change request, when applicable. • HR Training will receive the approved Training Profile Change Request and process the request(s). • The completed, original redline will be filed and stored as a training record.
CSI-0099, Documentation of Training • A Training Record form is used to document any live training with one or more employees. • The fully completed form should be submitted to [email protected] com as soon as feasible • Per CSI-0049, incomplete, incorrect or illegible forms will be sent back to the sender for revision. It is the responsibility of the sender to make the corrections, complete the form and return. • Per CSI-0049, any blank areas must be filled in with a line and marked N/A. • Ensure the Training Form is signed and dated.
CSI-0099, Documentation of Training – Event Specific EVENT SPECIFIC TRAINING • HR Training does not manage or record training history that is performed as part of Validations (i. e. , IQ, OQ, PQ, or SPR, ) NCR or TDA. These processes are outside the scope of this procedure. • Original training records for these processes are to be stored along with the original documentation. • Form number CSI-0099 -1 will be used for all validations as noted above.

Training System Functions • Your USER ID is not your email address; it is a system defined numerical ID and needs to be used when performing an electronic signature. • You can reset your own password from home page • Your user transcript is live • You will receive a notification of training assigned • You will receive a notification of training due 5 days PRIOR to the due date. • Managers can see direct reports compliance status by viewing available dashboards • You need to manually refresh dashboards when accessed
