HL 7 and ISO Although we’re reconsidering our role with JIC, HL 7 is committed to maintaining a strong relationship with ISO HL 7 -ISO pilot agreement has expired, but we are preparing a proposal to become an ISO Partner SDO (like IEEE and ASTM), including joint development & co-branding Ø Needs to state advantages (why HL 7 is essential to healthcare) and why Liaison status will not suffice This initiative is supported by Mike Glickman (ISO TC-215) and Steve Cornish (ANSI); seeking to submit in Q 1. © 2018 Health Level Seven ® International. HL 7 and Joint Initiative Council (JIC) Ed and Wayne notified JIC of our intent to withdraw in Oct. Rationale is that JIC relevance, role, functions, services and members had changed, (i. e. , focus on signature events) without an effective governance structure Ø Our position is that it’s more effective to partner directly with other groups like CEN and IHE on real projects Several concerns raised as a result; JIC members agreed to revisit charter to encourage HL 7 to remain HL 7 needs to make a final decision by April 2019 © 2018 Health Level Seven ® International.
