Ceramic Matrix • Recently we have experienced the CTD 1202 with less bonding effect. • We discussed this issue with the vendor CTD, Inc. Here is what we found. – Before there was always three parts per kit, Part A, B and C. We were told that Part B and Part C are identical, so that they combine them into one Part B. All the current CTD 1202 contains Part A (epoxy resin) and Part B (hardener). – After their chemist analyze the components in Part A, she found there is lacking of certain chemical, which cause the cure time longer or less bonding effect. CTD claimed that the component is supplied by their vendor and all within specification, so they cannot ask their vendor to do anything, but CTD suggest to add more catalyst into Part A with the new designation CTD 1290. • We plan to use CTD 1290 from QXFA 110 and notify CERN.
