Updated Visitation Guidelines – August 26, 2020 Previous Visitation Guidelines • • Inpatients may have a one visitor join them on the day of discharge (to understand discharge instructions and transition plans, and to provide transportation) • Other inpatients may have up to one visitor daily if all of the following criteria have been met: Inpatients who are minors (under the age of 18), in labor, at end of life, or have cognitive deficits or behavioral issues may have one visitor join them daily for the admission • Average Rt <1. 0 within the past 14 days 1 AND one of the following: • Average <11 positives cases per 100, 000 people within the county for the past 14 days 2 Other inpatients may have up to one visitor daily, as appropriate, based on local circumstances (e. g. , community prevalence, patient room configuration [single versus multiple], hospital activity level) Outpatients may have one visitor accompany them to the perioperative area, wait during the procedure or surgery, and see them, as appropriate, postoperatively Visitation guidelines must align with local public health and State requirements. • Average ≤ 5% of county PCR positivity rate within the past 14 days 1 Harvard School of Public Health.
