Problems with the Current Design of Crutches stairs ice or any bad weather unfashionable uncomfortable hard to balance limit upper body freedom to a large degree opening doors
Concepts spikes for ice more traction make more fashionable lights sensors on doors pivoting mechanism on the bottom and/or top cup holders scooter/crutch
Develop a Solution Feet that are removable that can be changed out for inclement weather Pivoting mechanism on the top and bottom to allow for easier movement with crutches
Construct and test a Prototype
Evaluate Solution The top made it easier to move around with the crutches, however it still caused sores. We decided we should make the padding at the top and by the hands using a gel substance similar to that on the handles of crops and hoof picks
Why we didn't choose the other concepts make more fashionable- would cause them to be to expensive lights- not practical bc of water resistance and the batteries would add extra weight sensors on doors- would have to put them on all doors and it would be really expensive and hard to do, we would need 3. 3 billion sensors just to make every american house door have a sensor. Sensors cost about 10 dollars, so it cost us 33. 3 billion cost. cup holders- upsets ones balance scooter/crutch- created more problems than it solved
