Cruel Coppinger: The Game By Norbert Walczak
Inspiration for the game The inspiration came to me when I read stories and legends about the Cruel Coppinger. It's a story within Cornish folklore and, like many stories at the time, was a little bit stretched and influenced by the imagination of the writers and "witnesses".
Characters and narrative & Locations The main character will be Coppinger and I want the game to be about his legend. I believe that this will fit very well with theme and we can do so much with the idea of a "Superhuman smuggler"! Coppinger's story is a very interesting aspect since he was a feared leader of smugglers, wreckers and pirates and I believe that it is a very good premise for a story with the bit of drama added by his family life. The narrative will take place around Cornwall near Devon mainly, near the shore. (Eastcott, Wolley and Morwenstow(Heartland Cornwall Heritage Coast))
Art style The art style should be very simple since the game is quite complicated and hard to make already. Thinking about it, the art style should be simple solid colours and look similarly to The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker from Nintendo.
Mechanics and goals
Cut scenes The initial cut scene will be a short show of the story of the Coppinger. During the game you will see a cut scene of you being spotted by the guards or citizens. There will also be a cutscene of you winning and losing. In addition, there will be a cut scene are the end of the last level where the Coppinger sails away.
