TITLE, FORMAT AND CONTENT The magazine I am looking to be producing will be called ‘Crown’ and it will be a film magazine focusing on the crime drama genre. It will include a contents page, exclusive interviews and an intriguing front cover. I want the title to be large on the cover so people remember the name and know what to look for if they want to buy it again. The main colour theme that will be running throughout the magazine will be red and black. Contents sets theme for magazine. Will generate a higher amount of revenue than a magazine that focused on a genre such as horror. This is because horrors are usually quite repetitive and predictable. However, with the crime drama genre, the films are unique and vary a fair amount which means that each issue would be different. The unique selling point of my magazine will be that I have exclusive interviews from the cover star(s) that will only be available to find in my magazine. Magazine will cost £ 4 as it is worth that amount for the content. Similar to competitors. I will advertise the exclusive interview on the cover to draw in the consumer to buying the magazine. I would be able to produce consistent and quality content for this magazine which I would most likely struggle to do with some other genres.

TITLE, FORMAT AND CONTENT I will use a crown on top of the ‘o’ in the title like on the right. Logo will be a crown. Contents will have bullet holes as bullet points like below. My front cover will be similar to this edition of Empire from July 2009. Excluding content not related to the crime drama genre.

TARGET AUDIENCE The age of my target audience is 15+ because I will be talking about 15 rated content and will make references to 18 rated content. Questionnaire age 15+ and 18+ would cut off most people. The gender that my magazine will appeal to will be males and the results of my questionnaire support this and the style of writing will be more tailored towards males as opposed to females. The lifestyle of my target audience will be people who are studying film or media and also people who aren’t studying it but have an interest in film. Some exceptions such as cover stars fans. The spending power of my target audience will be enough that they are able to afford to spend out £ 4 per month on a magazine without it really concerning them at all.

HOW THE PRODUCT APPEALS TO TARGET AUDIENCE The target audience’s age, gender, lifestyle and spending power shows that they will have the time to read it each month, will be able to afford it each month and also the way it is written will be tailored towards males. They will also come back each month to get the next issue as each one is unique and should be easy to find on the shelves.

QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS 1) How much would you like to spend on each magazine if it was a monthly issue? - £ 3 or less (3), £ 4 (14), £ 5 (2), more than £ 5 (1). 2) Would you prefer to buy a magazine monthly or buy a yearly subscription? -Monthly (10), Quarterly (1), Yearly (9). 3) From the four listed below, what is your preferred genre? -Action (3), Crime Drama (9), Horror (5), Comedy (3). 4) What gender are you? -Male (12), Female (8). 5) What age group do you fall in? -Under 15, 15 -19 (20), 20 -25, 25 -40, Over 40. (The red numbers in brackets are the amount of people who selected that answer). From this questionnaire I am able to work out that it was done with 20 people, 12 males and 8 females and also that the genre of my magazine should be crime drama, I should sell the magazine for £ 4 and I should offer both monthly and yearly subscriptions as they were almost equal results.
