Cross Canada Check-In Accomplishments • Our highest participation in a regional AGM with 35% of our members attending. There was good discussion around important issues. • Bursary created to help students and part-time employed ONE members attend workshops, webinars and conferences. • A CPE unit at Providence Care in Kingston which included 2 distance learners from the northern part of our region • PPC hosted a region-wide video-conference to discuss new CASC Scope of Practice

OCN Check-In New, Meaningful, Creative • Education Fund, in 2014 we launched a program

OCN Check-In New, Meaningful, Creative • Education Fund, in 2014 we launched a program to offer financial support to educational events to enhance training and education that centres on the CASC Competencies and is geared to CASC OCN members and the community. Funds can to be used for event planning, organising and executing of conferences, workshops, symposiums, training days, etc. • At out 2014 OCN AGM/Education Day we structuring the day to include a variety of workshop options. Thereby allowing members to deepen their training and education based on the choice of topic that best suited them. • Our members asked for the creation of a Journal Club and although we are still working on getting this up and running, a group did meet a few times to discuss journal articles and current research in the field. • We send out a Regional Communique 3 or 4 times a year and recently we added a section highlighting the accomplishments and notable happenings of our members with the aim of celebrating and appreciating each other.

OCN Check-In New, Meaningful, Creative • In 2014 the OCN has been involved in and have sponsored a number of meaningful educational events in the region. Ø In January we attended the 2014 OMC Conference “Healing Journey: Spiritual Responses to People in Crisis. ” There were a number of CASC OCN members present, and members from the CASC Ontario Council had a table to provide information for non-CASC members. Ø In May the OCN co-sponsored the Mental Health & Spiritual Care Symposium: Advancing Frontiers in the Treatment of Mood Disorders with North York General Hospital held at Hart House, University of Toronto. Ø In October the OCN co-sponsored an educational event with Dr. Harold Koenig, titled “Spirituality & Health, ” at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. • A new event in our Region; on March 23 rd we had our first pub night and had a great turn out. We plan to do it again. Our Northwest members are also planning a pub night in Thunder Bay. • We are proud of the many members across the region who have been busy with peer reviews, advanced consultations, specialist reviews, ethics modules, supervisors consultations, and running units.

OCN Check-In Regional Goals & Opportunities • We would like to offer educational opportunities to our members in the form of webinars and to have other interactive events for learning across the OCN • In March the Chairs of the three Ontario regions met by teleconference, this was a first! We plan to develop this relationship and continue regular communications. • We want to develop an inspiring web presence, to help our members network and connect in a more timely manner. • We encourage members to participate in consultations and we would like to see simplified processes for reviews and consultations both for students and to help the consultants. • We have set up opportunities to support members who are planning to register with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). We are always looking for ways to assist our members with this.

Cross Canada Check-In Accomplishments Demographics: Big but Small • • • Saskatchewan is a prairie province, which has a total area of 651, 900 square kilometres, almost 60, 000 square kilometres being water area. As of December 2013, the population of Saskatchewan was estimated at 1, 114, 170 and 43 of us are CASC Members! We continue to have successful CPE programs in both Regina and Saskatoon, including now a residency program in Saskatoon.
