Frameworks for Technological Integration v The Technological integration: It is the use of technology

Frameworks for Technological Integration v The Technological integration: It is the use of technology tools in general content areas in education in order to allow students to apply computer and technology skills to learning and problem-solving. v. Computer literacy: It is the ability to use computers and related technology efficiently, with a range of skills covering levels from elementary use to programming and advanced problem solving. v. Technology: It is the collection of techniques, skills, methods, and processes used in the production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific investigation. Technology can be the knowledge of techniques, processes, and the like, or it can be embedded in machines to allow for operation without detailed knowledge of their workings. v. Model of Technological Integration: Generally we use two integration model 1. Substitution – Augmentation – Modification – Redefinition Model. 2. Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge Model.

Substitution-Augmentation-Modification-Redefinition Model Dr. Ruben Puentedura established this model to describe how teaching – learning process is benefited by the use of technology in education. Modification Enhancement Technology allows for significant task redesign. Transformation Redefinition Technology allows for the creation of new tasks, previously inconceivable. Augmenation Technology acts as a direct tool substitute with functional improvement Substitution Technology acts as a direct tool substitute, with no functional change
