Ascension Day Ascension means Jesus Christ rising to Heaven

The Ascension of Jesus came back from the grave and spent 40 days with his beloved disciples. He taught his dear students many things and told them that he would visit again. He said, "Soon, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit and receive the power of God. You will tell my story to the people in Jerusalem and to people all over the Earth. " Jesus blessed his disciples. Then as they look at him Jesus became surrounded by bright light. He was taken into the heavens, and he disappeared. • Jesus is Lord in heaven, but he is also Lord in our hearts. • We do not have to be afraid of dying because Jesus has gone ahead to prepare a place for us in heaven with those who love God. • We know and feel real things we cannot see, like our parents’ and friends’ love. • The disciples needed to say goodbye to Jesus, and as Jesus left them, they turned closer to each other, to learn more about Jesus and to let others know about the Jesus who awaits them in heaven.
