What words come to mind when we think about change?

What is a Jesuit Identity? How do we bring these ideals to life? Cura Personalis – Care for the individual person Magis – A Latin phrase meaning more or better Goa- A state in Western India where St. Francis Xavier traveled to experience new opportunities, new cultures and new customs. Also known as CORE 101 Manresa - A town in northeastern Spain where Ignatius Loyola had a powerful spiritual experience that led to his founding of the Society of Jesus or Jesuits. Also known as our 4 day August orientation. Guided Pathway through Jesuit ideals

A little more about Goa/CORE 101: • Required non-credit course for all first year students • Instructors are University administrators • Meets 6 times in fall and 6 times in spring semesters • An extension of Manresa • Serves as touch points for first year students to ensure they are adjusting to University life and discussing sticky situations • Students will select their CORE 101 course when they register for classes

High School and College: 2013 study by the Higher Education Research Institute revealed that 59% of incoming first year students at a broad range of colleges and universities reported spending fewer than 6 hours per week doing homework during their senior year. 97% of these students graduated with a 3. 0 or higher GPA. (Eagen, Lozano, Hurtado & Case, 2013, p. 35) (Eagen et al. , p. 19)
