A Great Framework Example - Discussion • SCM & Customer Value • *********** • [Original Post due 9/25] • [Reply due 9/30] • • FOR YOUR ORIGINAL POST: • • READ THE PROMPT CAREFULLY. The prompt has multiple parts. Be sure to complete each part. Appropriately number each part of your initial post and reply. • • PART A • • If your last name begins with a letter A through K: • • (A 1) Explain how the following scenario represents (or does not represent) a supply chain management problem. • • (A 2) Describe three specific areas or processes within the supply chain that may need to be engaged to respond to this scenario. • • If your last name begins with a letter L through Z: • • (A 1) Explain how the following scenario represents (or does not represent) a marketing/sales problem. • • (A 2) Describe three specific areas or processes within marketing/sales that may need to be engaged to respond to this scenario. • • SCENARIO: A customer returns a product with which they are unhappy. You try to determine the reason, but they only make vague statements that lead you to suspect that they just want a refund so that they can go buy a competitor’s new product. • • PART B • In the article "Customer Intimacy and Other Value Disciplines, " the authors identify three "value disciplines. " They argue that because of the trade-offs involved, companies can really only become masters at one of these disciplines. Companies therefore need to choose which discipline they will pursue - and focus on their resources on mastering that discipline. • (B 1) Describe three value disciplines. • (B 2) Do you agree or disagree with the authors argument that companies can only become masters at one value discipline? Or do you think that this is a false choice - and that companies can succeed at more than one - and maybe even all three - of the value disciplines? Explain your perspective. (continue)

Number each part as you address it (1 and 2). Again, be sure to provide thoughtful, substantive support for your perspective based on your experience, material from the ebook and additional readings, and discussions in class. • (1) Reply to part A 1 of your classmate's original post - that is, whether this is a supply chain or marketing problem. In your reply - agree, disagree, or expand on what was said. • NOTE: If your original post was from a supply chain perspective, reply to someone whose original post was from a marketing/sales perspective. If your original post was from a marketing/sales perspective, reply to someone whose original post was from a supply chain perspective. • (2) Reply to part B 2 of your classmate's original post - that is, whether companies can only become masters at one value discipline. In your reply - agree, disagree, or expand on what was said

This would have to be used in a very specific way and wouldn’t be for just general discussion I imagine. https: //web. hypothes. is/ 5) Trello- The idea behind Trello is that you can work collaboratively on something with a group. But in turn allows you to set up discussions, take polls, and categorize things. https: //trello. com/en-US 6) Slack is a more synchronous discussion solution that a LOT of businesses and teams use. It can be both casual discussion and formal. It also allows things to be broken up subject by subject. To me, it would make a lot of sense for SCB faculty to start utilizing this in their courses, there is a very good chance once they graduate they will be using Slack (if they haven’t already) or something very close to it. https: //slack. com/
