LO 1 –BE ABLE TO USE THE COLOUR SPECTRUM IN THE HAIR/BEAUTY INDUSTRIES • Lets think of what type of colour you can use-in hairdressing, it should all be temporary-this means it would only last 1 wash • Coloured hairspray • Coloured mascara • Coloured shampoo • Coloured chalk • Coloured setting lotion.

LO 1 • • Think of products in Beauty too. Foundation Lipstick Eye-shadow Nail varnish Coloured eyelashes Rouge These are all temporary products too.

LO 1 -THEMES FOR YOUR IMAGE. HOW DO YOU DECIDE ON A THEME? • • Themes. Historical Wedding Avant-garde. • • Resources. False eyelashes Ribbons Flowers Glitter Feathers. Gather your images from the internet, mags, wallpaper, fabric swatches.

SO WHAT DO COLOURS MEAN TO YOU? • • Blue/sea, water, sky, rivers cold Red/fire, hot, thedevil, autumn Yellow/sunlight, sunflowers, sun, happy Green/grass, spring, eco, woodland White/bridal, winter, sky Black/gothic, witch, night sky. From these colours then decide what type of image you would utilise on your mood board. • Make it Funky!!

L 02 -KNOWING THE COLOUR SPECTRUM • In colour we talk about primary colours and secondary colours, on this study pack can you create a colour star. • A good way to remember it is this rhyme-Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain. The first capital letter in each word is a colour from the colour star!!

LO 2 • Now think about colours that cancel other colours or neutralise shades , make a colour star that identifies a warm side and a cool side. • These shades are often used in the hair/beauty industry. In make-up etc they could disguise dark circles under the eyes or camoulflage bright rosie cheeks. • Identify the warm side. • Then cool side.
