Create a Graph Instructions 1. Open data table on flash drive. 2. Position curser within the data table and on the top left corner you should see +. 3. Click on box with the + to shade the data table 4. Right click “copy” 5. Open Power. Point 6. Select Layout 7. Select two content 8. Click in first box 9. Right click and under “Paste Options, ” release right click on “Keep Source Formatting” 10. The box may need to be enlarged. If so, grab corner, by positioning curser on the top left corner of data table then holding mouse, click and drag to appropriate size

11. Click in second content box 12. Click on chart icon 13. Default will be “Clustered Column, click “OK” 14. Highlight Series 2 and Series 3 and right click, delete table columns 15. Highlight Category 4, Row 5, and right click, delete table row 16. In category 1, type in your first level of IV • Category 2, type in second level of IV • Category 3, type in third level of IV 11. In Column B, Series 1, in rows 2, 3, & 4, enter average data for each level of the IV (should correspond to the levels of IV you just entered) 12. To the right of the chart an + sign will appear. Click on + 13. Click on “Chart Title arrow and click “Above Chart” • Type in your title. • Click out of the Title box

14. To the right of the chart the + should appear. Click on + and select Axis Titles 15. Select Primary Horizontal, type in your IV, for example: Temperature (°C) • If applicable, you must include units (metric). • If you have a degree symbol you will have to go to insert on tool bar and click “symbol” to insert the symbol. • Click out of the IV box. 16. To the right of the chart the + should appear. Click on + and select Axis Titles 17. Select Primary Vertical, type in your DV, for example: Average Reaction Time • If applicable, you must include units (metric). • Click out of the DV box, when finished. 14. To the right of the chart the + should appear. Click off the Legend (Series on the bottom of chart should disappear. 15. Title the slide, “Data Table and Graph” – Name and Period # 16. Print slide and turn-in 17. Delete Name and Period # and Save the Power. Point Slide on Flash Drive.
