Create a Cell!!
Introduction Let’s take a trip to the smallest part of a living thing! Take out your shrinking wands, we need to be able to fit inside of something as small as a leaf! You’re now an explorer inside of a living thing. Get ready… here we go!!!!
Task Your task is to explore and analyze what a cell is, what it does, and all the parts that make one. As a biologist it is up to you to learn as much as you can about all cells! You will complete a diorama of this cell with an explanation of the parts attached!
Process Begin your investigation by finding out basic information of cells. › › What is a cell? What are the two types? What are their differences? What are the parts of a cell called?
Process Next you will be assigned which type of cell you will further investigate. Once this is assigned to you by the teacher, you will analyze all of the parts of this cell. › How many parts are there? › What are the parts? › What does each part do? creating a chart could help you here Then, you will look at images or videos of cells to fully understand what they look like!
Process Now you can begin creating your own diorama! When you are up to this point, your teacher will give your supplies. When you are done with your diorama, you will add a description of all the parts and what they do. › This will be NEATLY written and attached to your diorama!
Process Once you have fully and successfully completed your diorama and description of cell parts, it will be put on display. When all of your peers have completed theirs as well, the class will do a gallery walk of all the cell dioramas!
