CRCS Forum 2018 – Talk Synopsis Theme/Title: “CRCs/CRPs: Sound Communication And Interpersonal Skills (CIS) Essential For Success” “CRCs/CRPs have a vital role and responsibility towards successful Clinical Research (CR) conduct. CR is, above all, a human endeavor, and the diverse CR Stakeholders have their own expectation, interest, and perceptions of CR. These need to be aligned as feasible and judiciously managed. Successful outcomes are greatly facilitated if all stakeholders involved, including the CRCs/CRPs develop and utilize Sound Communication And Interpersonal Skills (CIS). These CIS are the skills that people use to communicate, interact with, and relate with other people. Thus, although CIS are also referred to as people skills or soft skills, in reality they are often the hard skills, which need to be cultivated. These CIS include Clear Communication, Active Listening, Giving and Receiving Feedback, Negotiation, Problem-solving, Assertiveness, Conflict Resolution, Working In and Leading Teams, and others. Cultivating these CIS will help craft sound CRCs/CRPs, and help facilitate “successful” CR outcomes - these CIS are thereby essential for success. CRCS Forum _Sound CIS _SG 14 Sep 2018
