CQC Statement of Purpose during COVID-19 Response CQC require a site that is now providing a different type of activity ie seeing other patients, to amend their statement of purpose to reflect this. This holds true even if a clinician from the patient’s own practice sees them at the site. This should be done within 28 days of the change. You do not need to change your statement of purpose if you are a practice referring to a different site. There must be an MOU in place between all parties covering the agreement and service provided. It does not need to be sent to CQC but they may ask to see it.

Suggested generic statement HOT X practice is currently supporting the COVID response by providing a specific site for patients within X PCN / from X Practice that may have COVID, this is to ensure that we protect and keep safer sites elsewhere for patients who still require support from their GP but don’t have COVID symptoms. Add this if you are sending your patients elsewhere ie XXXX This may mean that routine work is seen at another site for our patients, and that is X. Whilst our patients are being seen on another site, all follow up processes such as blood test results, complaints, referrals or any other follow ups will be the responsibility of the registered practice. GREEN X practice is currently supporting the COVID response by providing a site for patients within X PCN / from X Practice to be seen.
