Students Earn Credit in 2019 • Students (n = 5) earned credit for HS 080 Capital – Investments Medical Terminology • Student Feedback – Which piece(s) of the portfolio was most meaningful to you? • Student 1: I would have to say what excite me the most was developing my learning inventory. I defiantly [sic] learned a lot. It was challenging but well worth it. I enjoyed that experience. • Student 2: even though I had a rough time preparing my narrative, I actually enjoyed writing about myself. The narrative was my favorite part of this class.
Students Earn Credit in 2019 • Student Feedback Capital Investments – What impact, if any, did the portfolio development process have on the way you look at yourself as a college student? • Student 1: Yes, I started realizing all the different things I have accomplished and learned from classes previous from taking this one. Being able to properly cite different sources and write essays in proper format. Always to do a rough draft just to get started and continue fixing it up no matter how many times it may be. Sometimes It is going to take more than one try to get it right. –

I look at my narrative and say to myself "dam I wrote that!? ' its amazing and again thank you DR. JUSTIN GARCIA! with out you I wouldn't have made such improvements.
Lessons Learned • Portfolio Assessment Capital Investments – Opportunity to earn credit by demonstrating that you’ve already met the student learning outcomes of a given course – The process of developing a portfolio is educationally valuable

Incarcerated Students • End of Course Feedback – “The portfolio development process challenged Capital Investments me to accomplish something that I didn't think I ever would: starting and finishing a college class. I actually surprised myself at how well I did in this class and now have my confidence to allow me to be looking forward to the next challenge. ” – “You realize that even when you think you have no skills you actually got a lot through life. ”

Capital to Investments keep in contact with my family and to rebuild the trust that I had loss from them since coming to prison. This gave them the insight that I am doing something positive in my life in prison and to be a better successful person. ”
