COVID-19 vaccination programme V 3. 0 07012021 OFFICIAL Onboarding checklist guidance for local teams Onboarding components Who is responsible for the onboarding? Onboarding pack – indicative content: q q q q q Welcome to, and overview of, the COVID-19 vaccination programme Messaging for encouraging uptake / reassuring citizens / protecting the reputation of immunisation NHS values and behaviours Overview of the delivery models and their purpose Descriptions of the roles within the delivery models Visual walkthrough of citizen journeys through the delivery models Welfare and wellbeing support available FAQs Day 1 checklist An onboarding pack is recommended with content to be developed at local level. The indicative content as supporting material is available through regional workforce teams. Local onboarding – suggested content*: Registered healthcare professionals (RHCPs) from the NHS Professional supply route will have made a self-declaration of competence and compliance against statutory and mandatory training during the application process. There should be a local induction process which ensures basic core knowledge is in place and appropriate supervision. RHCPs will also have provided evidence of recent completion of immunisation, COVID-19 vaccination and anaphylaxis training. Non-registered healthcare professionals from the NHS Professional supply route will have provided evidence of recent completion of statutory and mandatory, immunisation, COVID-19 vaccination and anaphylaxis e-learning during the application process. Appropriate face-to -face training should be provided at a local level. Pre-arrival: q IDs q IT system log-ins (where appropriate) q Digital access e. g. system access, record keeping and incident recording (where appropriate) q Description of individual’s specific role and how all roles within the model inter-relate q Standing Operating Procedures including: Reporting for duty / shift procedure Breaks and refreshments arrangements Incident reporting process Speaking up / escalation processes On-site: q Site-specific H&S (incl. moving and handling) and fire safety q Site-specific PPE and IPC requirements q Where deemed relevant Equality and Diversity, Safeguarding Children, Preventing Radicalisation and Conflict Resolution. q IT system training/familiarisation (where appropriate) q Equipment familiarisation including emergency equipment (where appropriate) q Site-specific tour and patient/citizen pathway walkthrough q Checklist of day 1 requirements to support candidates *This is a suggested list of items for local system to cover. Local systems may modify or add to this list as appropriate to the delivery site. Clinical Supervisors will assess whether or not new RHCP hires from NHSP route need to complete training in Resuscitation, Health and Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, and Safeguarding Adults. This decision is dependent on prior completion of training or recent relevant experience. The assessment and outcome should be logged. Local providers of the delivery model.
