OBJECTIVES 1. OUR CLUB’S TOP PRIORITY IS TO PROVIDE A FUN, SAFE AND HEALTHY EXPERIENCE FOR ALL OF OUR SKATERS, FAMILIES, COACHES AND VOLUNTEERS 2. OUR CLUB’S SAFE RETURN TO SKATING PROTOCOLS ARE IN ALIGNMENT WITH ALBERTA HEALTH SERVICES RECOMMENDATIONS, SKATE CANADA AND STRATHCONA COUNTY GUIDANCE 3. ASFSC IS COMMITTED TO STAYING UP TO DATE AND MAINTAINING COMMUNICATION WITH FAMILIES THROUGHOUT THE SEASON

Medical screening questionnaires and waivers/assumption of risk forms are mandatory for all skaters, coaches, volunteers, and spectators in attendance at each skating lesson. • The waiver/assumption of risk will be provided electronically at the time of registration • Self screening is recommended before arrival at the rink for each night of skating. • Verbal, in-person screening will occur at the rink for each skating session, and admission to the rink will only be permitted at the discretion of the screening coordinator and/or coaches MEDICAL SCREENING QUESTIONNAIR E

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPTMENT: MASKS The wearing of cloth or disposable medical masks is currently

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPTMENT: MASKS The wearing of cloth or disposable medical masks is currently mandated for all County owned facilities, including Ardrossan Recreation Centre. • ON THE ICE: Coaches and assistants will be wearing a mask or face-shield, however this is not recommended for skaters as they are physically exerting themselves during lessons. • OFF THE ICE: wearing masks for skaters, volunteers, coaches, and spectators is mandated inside the facility (hallways, dressing rooms, observation/spectator areas). • Skater’s masks must be removed by the skater or guardian prior to putting on a helmet. Proper storage of the mask is required by the skater or guardian while the skater is on the ice *** ANY MASK WORN ON THE ICE MUST BE WASHED BEFORE WEARING IN THE FACILITY AGAIN***

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPTMENT GLOVES – skating gloves that are worn during lessons must be washed before wearing again HAND SANITIZER and TISSUE – ARC will have hand sanitizer available throughout the facility. ASFSC will have hand sanitizer and facial tissue available at the ice level. Skater’s are expected blow/wipe their noses using tissue (not gloves or sleeves), immediately dispose of the tissue, and sanitize hands each time of use. Skaters are welcome to bring personal tissue and hand sanitizer, but please ensure they are individual/travel size. Personal items will need to be stored in labeled, clear plastic bag and brought to ice level. The bag and contents will need to be sanitized before and after each skating session.

WHAT TO EXPECT: FOR ENTRY Access to the dressing rooms will only be permitted

WHAT TO EXPECT: FOR ENTRY Access to the dressing rooms will only be permitted 10 minutes before ice time. In order to be properly prepared for this streamlined timeframe, please prepare by using the following guidelines: Arrive dressed in as much skating gear as is safe and comfortable for transportation Stay in your vehicle until 15 minutes before ice time Have all items to be put on within the facility in 1 bag per family in order to avoid loose items being scattered on benches and dressing room floors Enter the rink from the East doors ONLY (nearest the splash park and outdoor rink) Check in with the screening coordinator in front of the skating office Line up outside the dressing rooms, standing at wall markers for proper distancing Only enter the change room upon coach or volunteer announcement Every person and all personal items must clear the dressing room once class begins

WHAT TO EXPECT: FOR SPECTATORS Spectators are allowed to watch from any area deemed

WHAT TO EXPECT: FOR SPECTATORS Spectators are allowed to watch from any area deemed “open” by the ARC facility. Wearing masks or face-shields is mandatory inside ARC. Exceptions include: children under age 2, underlying medical conditions, disabilities that prevent a person from safely wearing a mask or who cannot remove a mask without assistance, people eating or drinking within the facility, people exercising or engaged in athletic activity, caregivers or those accompanying those with a disability. Family cohorts are allowed to sit together, but children in attendance must remain with their parents and guardians for the duration of lessons Proper hygiene must be practiced after using the canteen or washroom facilities If parents/guardians are planning on using the wellness/fitness areas of ARC during lessons, a reservation must be booked with ARC in advance The indoor play gym and teen lounge will NOT be available Spectators who are assisting their skater at the end of the lesson must line up in the dressing room hall 5 minutes before the end of the lesson and wait to be called in by the coaches/volunteers Dressing rooms must be completely cleared out within 10 minutes of lessons ending. Please remove only what is necessary and quickly exit the dressing room

ITEMS REQUIRED BY SKATERS AT ICE LEVEL, IN ADDITION TO THEIR STANDARD SKATING GEAR,

ITEMS REQUIRED BY SKATERS AT ICE LEVEL, IN ADDITION TO THEIR STANDARD SKATING GEAR, WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: WHAT TO EXPECT: FOR SKATERS Washable gloves or mittens Labelled water bottle – bottle fillers will be available in the facility but the fountain feature will be turned off Storage for a mask if needed Sanitized name tag – please take name tag home after each session and properly sanitize Consider bringing personal facial tissue and hand sanitizer ***space will be provided at ice level for these items as well as skate guards***

BEHAVIOUR EXPECTED BY SKATERS ON AND OFF THE ICE WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: WHAT TO EXPECT: FOR SKATERS Awareness of social distancing Kindness and understanding of breaches of social distancing on the ice (whether by self or others) Limited touching of boards, gates, and benches Communication with coach if any symptoms of COVID should arise during lessons No spitting or open air clearing of nasal passages on benches or the ice – use tissue, dispose immediately, and sanitize hands Listen to direction by coaches and volunteers for entry and exiting dressing rooms and ice surfaces Work quickly with parents/guardians to clear dressing rooms and gather personal belongings ASFSC will still be focused on the FUN, LEARNING, SAFETY, and the HEALTH of all our skaters

CONTACT TRACING AND FACILITY COORDINATION CONTACT TRACING IS MANDATORY FOR ALL SKATERS, COACHES, SPECTATORS,

CONTACT TRACING AND FACILITY COORDINATION CONTACT TRACING IS MANDATORY FOR ALL SKATERS, COACHES, SPECTATORS, AND VOLUNTEERS OF ASFSC AT EACH SKATING SESSION • • • A log will be generated at the time of entry to the facility by the screening coordinator for each individual associated with ASFSC activities ASFSC will be required to release contact tracing information to Alberta Health Services for any confirmed COVID-19 case Contact tracing logs will be password protected and permanently deleted from storage after two weeks FACILITY COORDINATION • Between sessions, ASFSC will be responsible for disinfecting any on-ice skating props used • ARC will be responsible for all disinfecting of dressing rooms, common areas, ice/rink level surfaces in between each facility booking. Let’s all be respectful of the time, labour, and importance of this by adhering to the guidelines laid out by ASFSC • Please abide by all facility signage for directional flow and restricted areas within the facility

ASFSC’S RESPONSE PLAN WILL BE CONSIDERED A LIVING DOCUMENT Protocols will be kept current with any additional guidance from Skate Canada, Strathcona County, or the advice of Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health RESPONSE PLAN Protocols will also be updated as feedback is received from our skating community to ensure there is maximum clarity The most current version of the protocols will be available on our website, with any significant changes to families emailed before implementation of the said change out Sarah Hutchinson ASFSC President, will be responsible for planning and delivering the COVID-19 response plan

SHOULD ANY SKATERS, COACHES, SPECTATORS OR VOLUNTEERS BECOME ILL OR HAVE KNOWN EXPOSURE TO

SHOULD ANY SKATERS, COACHES, SPECTATORS OR VOLUNTEERS BECOME ILL OR HAVE KNOWN EXPOSURE TO A PERSON WITH CONFIRMED COVID 19, THEY ARE REQUIRED TO IMMEDIATELY CONTACT ALBERTA HEALTH SERVICES VIA 811 RESPONSE PLAN Please stay home from skating, and contact ASFSC by TEXTING Sarah Hutchinson at 780 -222 -7156 Sarah Hutchinson will oversea coordination with the family, ARC facility/staff and AHS Should any skater, coach, spectator or volunteer appear to present any symptoms, the screening coordinator will be required to immediately refuse or revoke participation

SHOULD ANY SKATERS, COACHES, SPECTATORS OR VOLUNTEERS BECOME ILL DURING A SKATING SESSON, A RAPID RESPONSE PLAN WILL BE PUT INTO PLAY • The person should self identify to the coach or screening coordinator • Immediate isolation and PPE (mask) will be required of the symptomatic individual • The screening coordinator will be responsible for contacting the parent/guardian (if underage) to ensure an immediate and isolated transportation home. • The individual will be asked to complete the AHS Self. Assessment Tool to determine if COVID testing is required • The screening coordinator will contact Sarah Hutchinson to determine if a suspension or temporary cancellation of activities is required RAPID RESPONSE PLAN

 • If activities are NOT suspended or cancelled, coaches and any volunteers present

• If activities are NOT suspended or cancelled, coaches and any volunteers present will undertake immediate disinfection of surfaces and items that may have come in contact with the symptomatic individual at ice and dressing room level, and then inform ARC staff of the event for further disinfecting • All participants will be instructed to sanitize hands • If modifications are required to club activities or specific sessions, all participants will be notified with as much notice as possible via email, social media and website updates. • If the symptomatic individual was only in areas of the facility outside of the dressing room or ice level, ARC staff will be immediately notified to implement disinfection protocols • All club protocols will be updated and modified as needed RAPID RESPONSE PLAN

ASFSC is asking for COVID-19 volunteers to assist in screening and contact tracing logs,

ASFSC is asking for COVID-19 volunteers to assist in screening and contact tracing logs, dressing room coordinator, and volunteer “at large” to assist in any rapid response actions that might be required at each night of skating. Please contact Sarah Hutchinson by text at 780 -222 -7156 if you are willing to volunteer for this. We are hoping to have enough volunteers to be able to rotate regularly. Please note: as volunteer positions hold the potential for high volume of contact and close contact of individuals, the volunteer should not fall into an at-risk population for COVID-19. All volunteers will be required to wear a mask or face shield while performing their duties. *there are many other volunteer positions this season including fundraising, social media, and the executive board – Contact Sarah Hutchinson by text 780 -222 -7156 CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
