Empower “To enable students to improve their academic experience”
Pilots in: • Engineering • Environment • School of Languages, Cultures & Societies in Arts
Open Dialogue • • Recruitment & Selection Training & Support Communications Reward & Recognition
Student Engagement Project • Facilitating the student voice – proved adaptable, successful and effective • Reps increasingly asked to contribute to more e. g. Employability, sustainability etc. • Course Reps could be an extra layer of support and a larger pool of representatives
Building on past successes • No intention to change things which already work • Intention is to streamline and make things easier for staff and students
Joint Honours • 700+ students • c. 75% of Joint Honours programmes in entire institution • Mostly satisfied with academic calibre of Course, but support processes need streamlining
Clusters • Breakdown into ‘clusters’ e. g. – A language and English – Two languages – English Language and English Lit. • Already happened in LCS for inductions and marketing – Now hopefully for Representation too • Retain Representation at Single Honours level, so increasing total Rep numbers to focus specifically on Joint Honours issues
Student Education Conference • Come and talk to us at the Student Education Conference 2016, and be part of our discussions!
