Courageous Love 9 -22 -19

I. COURAGEOUS LOVE IS SACRIFICIAL John 3: 16 -17 TPT 16 For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life. 17“God did not send his Son into the world to judge and condemn the world, but to be its Savior and rescue it!

I. COURAGEOUS LOVE IS SACRIFICIAL I John 3: 16 TPT 16 This is how we have discovered love’s reality: Jesus sacrificed his life for us. Because of this great love, we should be willing to lay down our lives for one another.

II. COURAGEOUS LOVE IS NOT BASED ON THE MERIT OF THE RECEIVER Romans 5: 6 -8 TPT 6 For when the time was right, the Anointed One came and died to demonstrate his love for sinners who were entirely helpless, weak, and powerless to save themselves. 7 Now, who of us would dare to die for the sake of a wicked person? We can all understand if someone was willing to die for a truly noble person. 8 But Christ proved God’s passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly!

II. COURAGEOUS LOVE IS NOT BASED ON THE MERIT OF THE RECEIVER Ephesians 2: 4 -8 TPT 4 But God still loved us with such great love. He is so rich in compassion and mercy. 5 Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace! 6 He raised us up with Christ the exalted One, and we ascended with him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm, for we are now co-seated as one with Christ! 7 Throughout the coming ages we will be the visible display of the infinite, limitless riches of his grace and kindness, which was showered upon us in Jesus Christ. 8 For it was only through this wonderful grace that we believed in him. Nothing we did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the gracious gift from God that brought us to Christ!

III. COURAGEOUS LOVE IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT GOD John 3: 5 -6 TPT 5 Jesus answered, “I speak an eternal truth: Unless you are born of water and Spirit-wind, you will never enter God’s kingdom realm. 6 For the natural realm can only give birth to things that are natural, but the spiritual realm gives birth to supernatural life!

III. COURAGEOUS LOVE IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT GOD I Corinthians 13: 4 -7 TPT 4 Love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. 5 Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. 6 Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. 7 Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up.

III. COURAGEOUS LOVE IS IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT GOD I Corinthians 13: 13 TPT 13 Until then, there are three things that remain: faith, hope, and love—yet love surpasses them all. So above all else, let love be the beautiful prize for which you run.
