About SIFULAN The Secure Identity Federation on Unified Lightweight Access ma. Nagement (SIFULAN) Federation is a Malaysian Access Federation consisting of education and research entities (including and not limited to institutions of higher learning, research institutes, schools, and partner organizations) in Malaysia. SIFULAN member is either become an Identity Provider (Id. P) or Service Provider (SP). SIFULAN adopts the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) as the communication protocol between the Id. P and the SP. Currently, SIFULAN supports Shibboleth and Simple. SAMLphp as the SAML middleware. Currently, there are 6 members of SIFULAN which consist of 3 Id. Ps and 3 SPs

The acceptance of SIFULAN as the 57 th members of the edu. GAIN SIFULAN has been accepted officially as the 57 th members of the edu. GAIN. The acceptance of SIFULAN has been a major milestone for the IAM community in Malaysia since SIFULAN’s members are not only able to access services from the Service Provider via inter-federation.
Dissemination Activities/Moving Forward Hackathon-style workshop for Id. P to setup their SAML Id. P (once a month, from September – December 2018) Awareness of the importance of having/adopting an IAM system and in line with the Personal Data Protection Act More case-studies of a success implementation of IAM system and provide a sufficient practical materials Inviting major service providers to join the Federation To assist home-grown service provider to join the Federation to help them grow their service in International level
