Touch Points A touch point is a “dot” or “dots” on a coin Each

Touch Points A touch point is a “dot” or “dots” on a coin Each touch point is worth 5 cents Each type of coin has a different number of touch points depending on how much that coin is worth We always count by 5’s when we are using touch points on the coins

Nickel A nickel is worth 5¢ 5 This is a nickel We say: A

Nickel A nickel is worth 5¢ 5 This is a nickel We say: A nickel has 1 touch point “ 5¢”

Dime A dime is worth 10¢ 5 10 This is a dime We say:

Dime A dime is worth 10¢ 5 10 This is a dime We say: A dime has 2 touch points “ 5¢, 10¢”

Quarter A quarter is worth 25¢ 10 This is a quarter 5 25 15

Quarter A quarter is worth 25¢ 10 This is a quarter 5 25 15 20 We say: “ 5¢, 10¢, 15¢, 20¢, 25¢” A quarter has 5 touch points

Penny A penny is worth 1¢ This is a penny. A penny does not

Penny A penny is worth 1¢ This is a penny. A penny does not have any touch points because it is less than 5 ¢ After you count all of your touch points you must remember to count any pennies!
