What is a Security Suite? A suite of utilities for maintaining the security of a Personal PC. It includes more than a dozen utilities such as anti virus, personal firewall, Spam blocker and pop up blocker.

Dr. Web Antivirus for Windows Dr. Webs security suite has two main functions, anti-virus and anti-spam. Both functions are substantial and should be a standard application in all home or personal PC’s today

Dr. Web Antivirus for Windows Dr. Web Antivirus also has an email virus scanner which does not come standard with all security suites. Dr. Web also just released a mobile version of his software for laptops and cell phones. And yes, if you can access the Internet or email on your cell phone, then you can also get a virus on it as well.

Dr. Web Antivirus for Windows Downfalls to Dr. Web’s Antivirus, for one there is only anti-virus and spam in the suite which only provides limited protection. Also, there are limited security setting controls within the system it’s self which makes for setting the security level virtual impossible.

Dr. Web Antivirus for Windows The third and final disappointment of this security suite is that the spam filter security level is unchangeable, which means if you wanted to view a site with any third party cookie attached you would be unable to view the site. All though this security suite has spars functions it delivers in those areas. Never the less I would not recommend this security suite to anyone.

ESET Smart Security This security suite comes from the makers of the NOD 32 anti-virus. The people behind the creations of the NOD 32 anti-virus decided to create a full security suite This system runs with a real-time filesystem and an internal monitor.

ESET Smart Security This security suite provides proactive protection with its new generation Threat. Sense technology. Threat. Sense is the internal monitor that can detect; Viruses, Trojans, Worms, Adware, Spyware, Phishing, Potentially Dangerous Applications, Riskware, and Application Intrusions. Along with its advanced heuristics, (Code Analysis, Emulation and Generic Signatures) the Threat. Sense is able to detect Malware signatures and prevent attacks much sooner and better then the leading competitors.

ESET Smart Security With precise detection, ESET is able to accurately acknowledge known and unknown threats. ESET is also recognized for having zero false positives.

ESET Smart Security One downfall to this security suite is that the Outlook or email scanner does not scan white listed contacts when emails are exchanged. Which could lead to potential security breaches. One good thing about the email scanner is that it will scan any application using the POP 3 port. Another neat option is that you can adjust the security level of incoming emails to your liking.

ESET Smart Security • Another option that smart security comes with is that, when downloading anything, the ESET Smart Security will automatically scan the incoming files. • The ESET Smart Security is already set to the MAX security level, so computer illiterate users don't need to worry about tinkering with the setting. • This Security suite is one of the better security system that is not wildly used in the general public. • With being user friendly and light weight, I would recommend this system to all types of computer users.

Microsoft Windows Live One. Care • Starting off, when reading up on this system, the word “Disappointing” was printed in large levels on more then one recourse. • The disappointment I later found out was the lackluster security features. • If anything, you would like a company like Microsoft would put out a worth while security suite.

Microsoft Windows Live One. Care • The One. Care's protections system consists of an anti-virus system, controls for IE 7's anti-phishing filter, performance patches, and a backup and restore function. • From what I've read the anti-virus is not the best, the anti-phishing protections is for IE only, and even the back up restore part of the system dose not perform properly. • When this system was tested against other anti-virus products the system trapped only 90. 3% of 800 K+ pieces of malware, which is quite low when it comes to virus protections.

Microsoft Windows Live One. Care • One of the upsides to this system is when asking the suite to scan something the system takes the time to scan the rest of your PC. . . Better safe then sorry. • Once. Care's Performance Plus is a five step process that covers; removal of unwanted files such as temp files, defrag. the hard disk, running virus scan, backing up vital files, and updates when necessary direct from Microsoft. • With Microsoft Windows Live One. Care I think is lacks in many areas and would not recommend it as a good security system.

Trus. Port Workstation • Trus. Port offers a wider veridity of security tools; anti-virus, anti-spam, firewall, and this system also provides a virtual encrypted disk utility, digital signatures for email and datashredding tool. • One of the best features to this secuirty system is with out a doubt the anti-virus, which in my minds eye is unparalleled to competitors.

Trus. Port Workstation • What makes Trus. Port virus scan better is being able to run multiple scans with multiple system. • One priceless quality that Trus. Port system has is when downloading data off the web. If the data your downloading has viruses attached the system will direct you to another window stating that the current download is not safe and will restrict the download. • This utility also applies with file-transfers or copying data.

Trus. Port Workstation • Trus. Port also scans all incoming emails. • Like most security suites, Trus. Port comes with a firewall. Unlike other systems Trus. Port firewall default setting is rather low, and with difficult utility controls, makes changing the settings much harder. • Trus. Port's encryption tool is not bad, you can set multiple levels of encryption within your security system, making it more protected.

Trus. Port Workstation • This security system is satisfactory, but it seems to me that it would be more suitable for the computer savvy rather the average user.

Zone. Alarm Internet Security Suite • The Zone Alarm used to be just a firewall, moving on to create an entire security suite, Zone Alarm added an anti-virus, anti-spam, and a number of other security functions. • Small changes in the firewall, such as automatically recording your computing habits then setting your firewall on the highest level after 24 hours.

Zone. Alarm Internet Security Suite • Another feature to this suite is the my. VALUT security system. Which is basically just personal data stored on an encrypted disk. • The suite also has will block multiple messaging service's if you desire.

Zone. Alarm Internet Security Suite • The biggest complaint that I found was the overall poor performance from the suite. Which means bad quality of performance programming. • Not a half bad Security suite, you definitely get what your paying for.

Less Acknowledged Security Suites Out of all the security systems I would probably chose the ESET Smart Security system even though its more for the hard core personal security users. It seems to have the best feed back from customers and the best overall security.
