The CP Curriculum • Minimum of 2 IB Diploma Programme (DP) courses – IB English (11 th & 12 th grade) and one DP course of choice • A core course consisting of 3 assessment components • A course in career-related study
The CP Core The IB Personal/Professional Skills course bridges the IB academic courses, the careerrelated study, and provides students with a combination of academic and practical skills.
The CP vs DP: CP Must meet ALL general diploma requirements including physical education Receive an IB CP Certificate in addition to their high school diploma Language portfolio/career-related study/pass 2 DP Courses/Personal and Professional Skills Class (junior and senior year) DP Certain state graduation requirements are waived Receive the IB Diploma in addition to their high school diploma TOK/CAS/Extended Essays Exclusive to students of CGHS Is a magnet program Take an industry certification exam Must meet criteria to earn Bright Futures Earning IB Diploma guarantees Bright Futures Scholarship
Requirements Minimum 2. 75 unweighted g. p. a. Be on track for Florida Graduation requirements (FSA ELA and EOCs) Complete the CP application One teacher recommendation
Proposed IB CP Schedule 11 th grade 12 th grade 1. Personal and Professional Skills Course (Academy Class) 2. AP Literature and Composition 2. IB English IV HL 3. Math class (could be Math Studies yr 1) 3. Math class (could be Math Studies yr 2) 4. Science class (recommended) 5. U. S. History 5. Government and Economics 6.
