Copyright By Abbie Llewellyn
• Copyright is when someone makes their own version of something and puts their own label on so no one else can copy and carry on the file to other people.
• Copyright does not protect ideas of someone’s work. It is only when the work itself is fixed, for example in writing, that copyright automatically protects it. This means that you do not have to apply for copyright, for example; an album of music can have separate copyrights for individual songs, sound recordings, artwork, etc. Whilst copyright can protect the artwork of your logo, you could also register the logo as a trade mark.
Copyright within Looping Advert • Within my looping advert I have transferred my images from Google, to do this I needed permission. For example I have a basic image of a can, this involved the fair trade logo, which has a trademark, through Google I have been allowed to use this for further work. This also applies to my other images such as the hands holding my cans and the thumbs up, if I didn’t have the permission to use these images I would have found an alternative way to create this image my own way, for example; taking my own pictures. • In the future I could maybe consider copyrighting my work, or possibly adding a trademark logo/symbol to my brand/drink logo, advert etc.
