Conversation Café Agreements • Open-mindedness: listen to and respect all points of view • Acceptance: suspend judgment as best you can • Curiosity: seek to understand rather than persuade • Discovery: question old assumptions, look for new insights • Sincerity: speak for yourself about what has personal heart and meaning • Brevity: go for honesty and depth, but don’t go on and on 2

Process • From the next slide, select a topic that reflects an area of interest for further discussion. You will have time for three 10 minute conversations. • Each table selects a facilitator. • It is the leader’s role to ensure all voices are heard and that the conversation remains focused on problem solving and sharing of effective strategies. • After 10 minutes, you can either remain with that topic or move on to another topic of interest. 3
