DEFINITION OF CONVERGENCE Convergence can be defined as the interconnection of technologies. Convergence in relation to information and communication technology. ICT. Can be defined as single product such as a cellular phone. Which in time past, was used only as a communication device. But has now evolved into a multiple functioning product that incorporates a number of other technologies, that enables it’s user to view a movie, take pictures, listen to music, send and receive text and voice messages. For example a smart phone. . Kurbanog lu, S. (2010).
The term ICT was first used by Dennis Stevenson in a 1997 report, about the role of Information Technology (IT) in the United Kingdom schools. Presently technological convergence has change and continues to change the way lessons are thought in schools. From e-books to smart tables, new forms of technology are been manufactured that can be used to make learning more fun.
