Requirements for use of tags l Only those tags which have been approved by the Safety Department will be used l Tags are to be removed only by the authorized employee responsible for the tag with his or her name l Tags must be capable to withstand the environmental conditions of the workplace
Requirements for use of tags l Tags must be securely attached l Tagout device attachment means shall be non-reusable, attachable by hand, and self-locking with a minimum unlocking strength of no less than 50 pounds
ENERGY CONTROL PROCEDURES 1. Notification 2. Preparation for shutdown 3. Machine or equipment shutdown 4. Machine or equipment isolation 5. Applying lockout or tagout devices 6. Stored energy 7. Verification of isolation
