Knowledge of the Framework is Crucial to Continuous Assessment Teachers' planning needs to include when and how evidence of student learning will be gathered, at the same time that they plan the work that students will do. Teachers need to be creative in using teaching activities that can give information about the students.

It is not necessary to complete the TEN assessment every 5 weeks if a process of continuous assessment is embedded in classroom practice. Continuous Assessment: is a continuous process of identifying, gathering and interpreting information about students' learning to guide future teaching values teachers’ professional judgement engages teachers in classroom based learning through observation, diagnostic interviews and reflection.

Ways to Assess • Listen to the students' explanations during whole class or group discussions. • Observe the students use of finger strategies during a whole class activity (Rabbits Ears) or during the introduction or conclusion of a lesson. (Celebrity Head). • Observe the strategies students use during group or partner activities. • Collect student recordings (Blocks on a Bowl). • Use a TEN question as a model for a group activity. • Have the students keep learning journals.
