Continuity of Learning students will be supported with opportunities that allow for a variety of learning experiences to develop literacy and numeracy skills, support social, emotional, and physical well-being, and continue their studies in content areas across the curriculum

Parameters ✔ Identify priority standards (curricular competencies and content) ✔ Be attentive to core competencies and social-emotional learning. ✔ Develop activities and assignments that are accessible to students and families. ✔ Technology-based learning should not be the only way that student engagement is supported. ✔ Make regular efforts to engage with students and families to provide resources and activities that will support quality learning experiences that are sustainable over time. 6

“ The Ministry is not mandating or specifying the minimum number of hours that must be completed for a student to receive credit for courses. The focus is on determining if sufficient learning has taken place during these exceptional circumstances. 7

Think about… ✔ ✔ ✔ How you will group your teaching? Cross-curricular? Subject-specific? How often will you connect with learners? Contact should be regular (we are suggesting once a week), but can take various forms depending on your students access to technology (phone calls, email, Zoom, your class website, etc. ) How can you meet students and families where they are at when setting schedules and expectations to minimize unnecessary stressors and foster sustainability? How will you encourage engagement and provide feedback or assessment, where applicable? How teachers and students can use both low-tech and high-tech activities for teaching and learning? 8
