Kasturba memorial Fund The kasturba memorial Fund was formed in memory of kasturba Gandhi in 1944, after her death. The trust has nearly a crore of rupees & is actively engaged in various welfare projects in the country. The memorial Fund is utilized in many women welfare projects. This trust also carry out anti- leprosy work.
Objectives of the kasturba memorial Fund The trust conducts & promotes charitable activities for welfare of mothers, children through the establishment of hospitals, dispensaries, cottage industries & training campaigns in first aid, home nursing, child welfare, indigenous remedies, etc.
Family planning association of India The family planning association of India was formed in 1949, with its headquarters at Mumbai. It has done pioneering work in propagating family planning in India. The family planning association was formed as a health measure & also as a rapid population growth.
Activities The family planning association of India advanced to include spacing & limitation of child birth, help & guidance to general marriage problems, training of personnel & research. Due to the continuing problem of population control, emphasis is given to spacing & limitation of child birth.
All India women’s conference It is the only women’s voluntary welfare organization in the country established in 1926. The primary objective is to establish & run maternity clinics, medical centers, family planning clinics, etc. The branches of the all India women’s conference are functioning all over India.
Activities Special contribution in the running of maternal & child health clinics. Health centers & child health clinics. Arranges for adult education & milk centers.
All India blind relief societies The organization financed by the government of India, was established in 1946 for the purpose of bringing together the work of mainly different institutions for the care of blind. Earlier relief work for the blind has been done by private & government agencies, But some of it was discontinued due to lack of funds.
Activities It organizes eye relief camps & other measures for the relief of the blind. It also organizes health education.
International council of nurses The international council of nurses (ICNs) is a federation of non- political & self – governing national nurses Association. In 1900, the council Constitution was adopted & first meeting was held at the world explosition, new York. Their headquarters is established at Geneva in Switzerland.
Aims - To develop self – governing principles among nurses under nurse leadership. - To develop a profession that would raise the ethical & social status of nurses. Objective - to promote the development of strong national nurses Associations. - To improve the standards of nursing & the competence of nurse. - To serve as authoritative voice for nurse, & nursing internationally.
Activities - making the code of nurses. - the world wide accepted definition of a nurse. - Policy statement on health & social issues. - - arranging exchange program for study & employment. - Maintaining a register on professional qualification of people. - Conducting seminars around the world to maintain relationship.

Trained nurses Association of India The trained nurses Association of India (TNAI) is a national professional association of nurses. The present name & organization was established in 1922, but it’s history of development goes back to 1905. The level of organization moves to the district, state, & national levels. Members of the TNAI Are usually most active on the level of the local unit. Activities & conference however, are planned Regularly by the estate branches & provide opportunities for valuable professional participation.
Aims The aims of TNAI center upon needs of the individual member & problems in the nursing education, improvement of living & working conditions for nurses in India & registration for qualified nurses. Various activities of TNAI Implement it’s aim. It was active in helping to formulate basic nursing rules, when it was first organized. Recently it has promoted the development of courses in higher education for nurse.
Membership It’s membership is obtained b. Y application & submission of a copy of your state registration certificate. Transfer membership from the student nurses Association by having a certificate sent from the institution in which the student studied within 6 mnths after completing the course.
