Note: Items that have not been checked out will only stay in the cart for 30 minutes.

Note: If a message pops up asking you if you want to run the file or save it, choose run. Download all the parts to listen to the entire title. Make sure that the pop-up blocker is turned off on your PC. Once you have selected all the parts to download that you want, the Overdrive Media Console will open and the title will start to download. On the bottom right of the Overdrive Media Console window, a green or blue bar will show the progress of the download. Each part will download separately.

County computers do not have this software installed and will not allow you to download it. v Adobe Digital Editions will need to be activated on the library PC using the patron’s Adobe ID. To do this… • Open Adobe Digital Editions. The 'Setup Assistant' dialog box is displayed. • Click 'Continue'. The 'Authorize Computer' screen is displayed. • Enter your Adobe ID (email address) and password. Click 'Activate'. • Click 'Finish' to close the 'Setup Assistant' dialog box. • When the patron is done, unactivate Adobe Digital Editions.

Digital Media Catalog check out and return policies: v. Titles downloaded through our Over. Drive library cannot be renewed at this time. You will need to check out the title again. If it is unavailable, you will need to place it on hold. v. You may check out a maximum of 10 titles at one time v. Items checked out from Digital Media Catalog will automatically be checked in after the checkout time has expired. The title will still appear on your portable device, but you will no longer be able to access it. You will need to delete the title from your portable device. v. Turning in Titles Early To return an e. Book early, you will need to use Adobe Digital Editions. First you will need to click on "Library View" which again is located in the top left corner of the program. Next, if you move your mouse over the cover of the title you want to return, a triangle will appear in the upper left corner of the book jacket. If you left click on this triangle, a drop down menu will appear. "Return Borrowed Item" is one of the options. Selecting this will return the item and delete it off your computer, but it will not delete it from any portable reading device that you may have transferred the title to. The title will no longer be checked out to you, but you will need to delete the title from the computer using the same triangle you used for returning the item early. Due to licensing agreements with the audiobook publishers, e. Audio titles cannot be returned early. Only e. Books (EPUB and PDF) can be returned early at this time.

Authorize Your Portable Device • Please make sure Adobe Digital Editions is not open when you start this process. • First you will need to turn on the portable device and connect it to your computer. • After the device syncs with you computer, open the Adobe Digital Editions program with your device still connected. After it finishes loading, the “device setup assistant” should pop up. The Message in the window should read: “A mobile device has been detected. ” • To transfer protected items between your Digital Editions library and this device, both the device and the computer must be authorized with the same Adobe ID. • To authorize the device, click on the brown “Authorize Device” button. Your device should now allow you to transfer e. Books from Adobe Digital Editions. Transferring from Adobe Digital Editions to Your Device • When you download an e. Book, it should automatically be downloaded to Adobe Digital Editions. In order to transfer a title from Adobe Digital Editions to your portable device, you will need to make sure you are in "Library View. " The icon for “Library View” is located in the top left corner of the program and looks like three books next to each other. • If your portable device is connected to your computer, you should see the name (or model number) of the device listed in the left hand frame of the Adobe Digital Editions program. Generally it is the last item listed under the “Bookshelves” heading. • To transfer the title, simply drag and drop the book jacket to the model of your portable device listed in the left hand frame. This should transfer the title to your reading device for you. It is common for it to only take a few seconds to transfer. • After it is complete, you may close Adobe Digital Editions and disconnect your portable device from the computer.
