What is Content Validation? • In psychometrics, content validity (also known as logical validity)

What is Content Validation? • In psychometrics, content validity (also known as logical validity) refers to the extent to which a measure represents all facets of a given construct. • It is different than “face validity” or opinion. • Review article – Mary R. Principles Guiding the Process Keep in mind: • This work is a revision of previously published work • The focus of the effort is on content validation • The recommendations of the content validation panel will advise the content • Items will not make the July 18, 2018 agenda unless they go through the content validation process • Individuals are asked to approach this process in the role of ‘critical friend’ • Some issues may be raised that do not fit within the content validation construct. If this occurs, the facilitator will help the group determine the correct environment to deal with these issues.
