1) Concept of Leadership & Motivation Leading : means having a vision and sharing it with others. _it‘s possible to share a common goal Only by inspiring others. -A lot of this comes down to 3 areas: vision, communication and motivation. Motivation _It is the process of stimulating people to actions to accomplish the goals. Is Motivation critical to effective leadership and management?
2) Roles & skills of Managers
skills of Managers Conceptual skills : the mental ability to view the operation of the organization. Human skills : the ability to work with people. Technical skills: the ability to knowledge or techniques of specific discipline to attain goals.
3) Comparison between Managers and leaders. Managers Leaders 1. manage the entire organization. 1. influence his team to achieve a specified goal. 2. have employees and subordinates. 2. Have Followers. 3. plan details. 3. set directions. 4. react to the change. 4. promote change. 5. avoid conflicts. 5. use conflicts as an asset. 6. doing the things right. 7. aim at accomplishing the end results. 6. doing the right things. 7. aim at the growth and development of his teammates.

5) Types of Leadership Telling / directing • Leader tell his employees : what to do & how to do it • (instructions to new employees). Selling / coaching • provide information , but there`s more communication with their followers, • Sell their message to get people in board. Participation / supporting • (Leader share ideas with employees and take their suggestions in his mind, • Focus more on relationship and less on direction. Delegation • Leader pass most of the responsibilities on to his employees or groups but still monitor progress).
