WHAT IS A HERO? • A person (male or female) who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. • It is a person that uses their knowledge and abilities to improve the world, giving others the courage and inspiration to do the same. • Depending on the Hero, he/she may have infinite amounts of capabilities.
SPIDERMAN’S SPECIAL ABILITIES • He can cling to almost any surface. • Has superhuman strength (able to lift 10 tons optimally). • Roughly 15 times more agile than an ordinary human.
SPIDERMAN’S SPECIAL ABILITIES • Combination of his acrobatic leaps and web- slinging enables him to travel rapidly from place to place. • His spider-sense serves as an early detection warning system linked with his superhuman kinesthetic.
WHO IS SPIDER-MAN?
SPIDER-MAN • Peter Parker, he is the best example that illustrates the loser archetype. • Has no luck at all. • Bitten by a super spider on a class field trip which gives him his superpowers. • In love with a girl named Mary Jane, like other heroes he has the promise of a Sacred Marriage with her. • Lost his grandfather to a burglar he let escape.
SPIDER-MAN • Has a meeting with a Goddess: the wise and loving Aunt May, who gives him the inspiration he needs, telling him he was meant for great things. • He must prove he is worthy of a hero status, and he needs to do this through a series of challenges. • Faces many physical deeds, such as saving Mary Jane, catching burglars or battling everyday criminals. • He is a hero that has more and more problems as his supernatural powers evolve. The powers are meant to help the world and have no use in his personal life.

SPIDER-MAN’S NEMESIS • Green Goblin (Norman Osbourne) • Due to the "Goblin Formula" Norman possesses super-human strength (lifting 9 tons under optimal conditions), increased speed, reflexes, endurance, and healing rate. • Can regenerate damaged tissue and organs. • His intelligence has been enhanced to gifted levels, though at the price of his sanity. • When not impaired by mental illness, Osborn is a cunning businessman, masterful strategist, and highly skilled at electronics, mechanics, and chemistry
SPIDER-MAN’S SACRIFICES • He has to give his life to something bigger than himself, in the case of Spider-Man – the entire world. • Sacrifices being a known celebrity by always keeping his mask on and never revealing himself. Always remaining humble and subservient to his community/neighborhood. • Sacrifices being with Mary Jane for her safety.
