So, did the Twenties really ROAR for ALL ? �Rural Canada families often traded their home grown goods with local shop keepers for the necessities �The working poor often struggled living without electricity or the means to purchase the newly available goods �Not all Canadians benefitted from the prosperity of the 1920 s. Lets take a closer look at some regional differences:

Western Canada �Western farmers were frustrated with National policy that stemmed from the King-Byng

Western Canada �Western farmers were frustrated with National policy that stemmed from the King-Byng Affair �Farmers felt alienated by economic polices that benefitted manufacturers in central Canada �Therefore, they were forced to buy more expensive Canadian-made machinery, without similar protection for their products that were sold on the open world markets.

Eastern Canada: The Maritimes �Newly developed energy resources for Western and Central Canada, destroyed the Market for Maritime Coal. Many businesses and Banks relocated to Ontario and Quebec. �The coal producing mines of Cape Breton and the East coast were now considered outdated technology compared to these new resources �This caused major economic and social turmoil for the families and workers in the East Coast
