Conscription § Forced enlistment into the military. § Conscription is controversial because no one wants to be forced to do to something that they don’t want to do. § Some people think that it goes against the constitution (even though its in the constitution, article 1 section 8)

Conscription in the U. S § The untied states first drafted people to fight in the civil war, although that time less then 2% of the men in the war were drafted. § The U. S has used the draft in five wars including, World War One, World War Two, the Cold War and it ended in the Vietnam War

China’s conscription § If you are 18 to 22 in china you are enrolled in to the military, where you have to sever a whole year. § You will receive a letter and the report to duty, if you don’t report you will be criminally charged.

Pros and cons § You will never need people to volunteer. § You never need to worry about not having enough people in your army. § There is not much anyone can do about it otherwise you can charge them § Your armies loyalty won’t really be there. § You have to worry about protests § You have to worry about charging people who don’t report.

Opinions § While I don’t think that we should be placing people in our military against their will but if the government really needs people to fight in our wars then we need people.
