WHAT IS A CAUSAL CONNECTIVE? A casual connective are words or phrases that link together to show the cause and effect within a sentence. Some causal connectives we can use are: Because So For Since As An example of this would be: The wind blew the door open and as a result, my paper flew everywhere. The cause of the door opening is the wind. The effect of the door opening was the paper being blown everywhere. The casual connective is as a result.
