Englewood Full Service Coordinator My name is Marchelle Smith I am the newest member of the United Way/Full Service Schools Team. I started my role here as the Englewood FSS Coordinator on Monday, June 23 rd, and will continue to build on the great work being done in the Englewood community! The Englewood Family Resource Center, want to thank you for another successful year. We really appreciate you working with us to provide quality services for your children and families. We are here to meet you and your child’s needs by removing any barriers that may be keeping them from a successful school year. Please call or come see me to discuss services in detail. Neighborhoods Currently Served
Services are Neighborhood Driven Oversight committees are made up of volunteers from the community and schools. Oversight committees determine the services to be provided at each site. In addition to core services, oversight committees allocate Funds each year to enhance services. Oversight committees do a thorough needs assessment to determine the services needed for their neighborhood. This assessment guides their decision making when allocating funds.
Challenges within Full Service Schools Every child that is identified to be in need of assistance, should be able to access it. Full Service Schools is making every effort to make sure that families are served.
Measurable Results • reduction is serious conduct violations • parents said that they saw improvement in their child as a result of services. • students showed an overall increase in functioning as a result of services. And positive gains in other key areas
Measurable Impact on Preventing Juvenile Delinquency • reduction in anti-social and criminal behavior • improvement in school attendance • reduction in physical violence • reduction in the need for constant supervision
Referral Requirements • The entire referral must be completed accurately and in it’s entirety for processing • Referrals can be submitted by anyone 18 yrs or older • School’s faculty and staff • Parents/family members • Neighbors and community members/leaders • Organizations and program officials • More….
